Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor Directory & Training Information

Just as CPR helps you assist someone having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) equips you to support those experiencing a mental health or substance use-related challenge or crisis. MHFA is an interactive, skills-based training program that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to a colleague who’s struggling. By fostering a culture of mental wellbeing and compassion, providing your workforce with MHFA certification makes your hospital a better place to work. Learners come away with a better understanding of how to care for their own wellbeing at work as well as an action plan to apply to non-crisis and crisis scenarios.

As part of our WHY initiative, funded by the Duke Endowment, SCHA hosted a Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training in fall of 2024 for hospital representatives aspiring to teach the course. We now have an established network of instructors across the state trained to teach Adult Mental Health First Aid at our member hospitals and in the community. If you are interested in scheduling an Adult Mental Health First Aid training at your organization, please review our instructor directory and reach out to an instructor nearest you. If you have difficulty finding an instructor in your area, or have questions about scheduling a training, please complete this contact form and we will contact you soon!
